Self-releasing an album
Creating and releasing music are core activities for any musician. Successfully releasing an album involves considering many different components, responsibilities and deadlines, not to mention the creative element. It takes great time and resource on all fronts, so it makes sense to properly organise and manage the process to give it the best chance.
Thirty Plus One are developing a series of free resources designed to complement each other and support members on their self-releasing journey. Currently, they include The Timeline and The Project Management Tool.
Designed to help with mapping activities and setting deadlines when self-releasing, this timeline includes a broad checklist of activities with guidance on timing and duration. We know that available time and capacity of the team will vary from artist to artist. The guidance therefore includes lag time and the notes indicate where there are opportunities for flexibility so the timeline can be amended to suit individual projects.
